Picnic Perfect

Hi! I've been meaning to drop by, but since it's been perfect out-of-doors season here in Manila, you can say I've been a little bit pre-occupied. I know it's lame to start a conversation with the weather but I will anyway...I mean, chilly mornings and breezy evenings in Manila IS worth mentioning right?

I just love, love, love it when this time of year turns out this way, with the wind strong and cold enough to give you baby goosebumps. There was a time, so my parents say, that sweaters rolled out of closets as soon as September came along. But sigh! Those days are gone. You'd be lucky if you got the chance to wear one between December and February. It makes me sad to remember that our time with this fabulous weather is fleeting and that all we have together is a few more weeks (if we're lucky!) of borrowed time!

So instead of merely curling up with a good book, which is a mighty fine thing to do at this time no doubt, I am determined to pack the kids, the mats, the frisbees, the kites and of course, the picnic basket and head out to my closest patch of grass and sky! And seriously, so should you! Cheers!

  1. Hi, this sounds like a great idea! Mind if I ask you where's a good place to have a picnic in Manila. The places I know are fairly common and packed with people. Thanks!

  2. I hear the Ayala Triangle in Makati is fairly nice and spacious for a picnic=) But you'll need more space to fly a kite. If there's a soccer field or school field near you that would be the best. Obviously we need more parks and open spaces in this city! Good luck!
